The fire that erupted at cargo ship carrying wheat from Russia was extinguished at the Karachi Port on late Wednesday night.
According to Karachi Port Trust (KPT) spokesperson, the carbide drum of the cargo ship which reached Karachi from Russia suddenly caught fire which was doused by using sand.
The spokesperson further said that no emergency was declared at the port due to fire and off loading of the wheat started from the ship soon after the fire was brought under control.
