National Coordination Committee on Housing Con-struction and Development held its 109th meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The meeting was convened by Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority (NAPHDA) Lieutenant General Anwar Ali Hyder, HI(M) (Retd) and attended by officials from the Ministries of Housing and Works, Planning, Devel-opment & Special Initiative, Finance, Law and Jus-tice, Chief Secretary’s offices Punjab, Sindh, Khy-ber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, FBR, CDA, and Deputy Chairman NAPHDA Major General Amer Aslam khan, HI(M), T Bt (Retd) among others.
The Committee reviewed the progress of differ-ent housing and construction related initiatives in all the provinces. Matters relating to project approval regime, master plan, and land/construction matters were discussed.
Agenda items also included discussion on Draft Policy by Chief Secretary Punjab to address the issue of conversion of the following categories of lands into built up areas: Agriculture land/green areas, Shamilat land and State owned lands (Parks, nullahs, public community areas)
Update on digitization of Cadastral Record of Lahore and all State Lands was also given and dis-cussed.
Progress of the commission/committee consti-tuted to deal with illegal/unapproved housing schemes/societies involving third party interest was also deliberated.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had constituted the National Coordination Committee on Housing, Construction and Development to coordinate and facilitate the government’s policy to promote con-struction and development-related activities, espe-cially affordable housing projects for the low-income segment of the society as envisaged in the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme.
