Says unlike past sit-in, we are not holding mujras every night; Azadi March to turn into Seerat-e-Tayyaba conference on 12th Rabiul Awwal

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday evening said that more time cannot be given to the incumbent rulers as it can lead to ‘further deterioration in the country’s situation’.
Addressing the protesters, Maulana Fazlur Rehman lauded Azadi March participants for braving harsh weather conditions and rain. He paid tribute to them for remaining steadfast and urged them to continue to do the same. “This gathering is for those who stand firmly behind their stance,” said Fazl to the crowd. He said that the sit-in is not for ‘spectators’ but for the resolute ones.
Fazlur Rehman says the anti-government sit-in has been staged with a view to “fulfilling a national responsibility” and for which “much effort and resilience has been exercised so far (by the participants)”.
“It is not as if we are holding mujras (dance performances) here each night. With the grace of God, there are respectable people sitting here. They have not come here to indulge in debauchery. My decency does not permit me to repeat the scenes we all witnessed in Islamabad in the past (sit-ins).
Fazl said that people were not getting justice in Pakistan as “There is no justice in the country. NAB is helpless when it comes to holding the government responsible in Pakistan,” he said. The JUI-F chief said, “We want a constitutional government which truly reflects the Constitution of Pakistan.”
Rehman also announced to turn ‘Azadi March’ into Seerat-e-Tayyaba conference on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal. “Azadi March will convert into Seerat-e-Tayyaba conference on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, he said.
He also criticized the incumbent government for opening the Kartarpur corridor for Sikhs on Iqbal Day (November 9). “On one hand the government is talking about sufferings of Kashmiri people, but on other they [govt] are opening Kartarpur for Sikh community which shows a complete contradiction in policies of the PTI govt,” added JUI-F chief.
He said that Pakistani diplomats in Afghanistan are being harassed by Afghan authorities, but the foreign office has not raised the issue with Afghanistan govt and didn’t lodge a protest as well.
The JUI-F Ameer told the march participants that he and the Azadi marchers had arrived in Islamabad to save the country and that is what they would do.
JUI-F chief said the government “will have to withdraw” the presidential reference filed against Supreme Court Justice Qazi Faez Isa. Addressing the big gathering, he said the message sent out through the reference against Justice Isa was that “a judge who gives a verdict based on justice which happens to be against the interests of the rulers will be sent home through references”.
He criticised the country’s judicial system, saying “one-sided justice and accountability” won’t be tolerated.
