Pakistan, UK close strategic partners in education: Shahfqat

Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood has said that there exists close strategic partnership between Pakistan and United Kingdom in the field of education and PTI government has further strengthened this long-standing partnership.

These views were expressed by him during his meeting with British High Commissioner Christian Turner held on Monday.

Appreciating the supportive role of UK, Shafqat Mahmood said that first time in the history of the country, minorities like Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Kalash and Bihai communities will be taught their own religious contents and values.

British High Commissioner lauded the response of Pakistan to Covid-19 pandemic and said that Pakistan has done well so far to curtail the spread of virus.

Christian Turner also formally invited the education minister to participate, alongwith a delegation in Global Education summit: financing GPE 2021-2025 taking place by the end of July in U.K.

Besides reaffirming their firm resolve to further fortifying their cooperation in the field of education, the two sides also exchanged views on a range of bilateral issues of mutual interest.
