CDA Board has approved the largest budget in the history of CDA for the new financial year 2021-22, a budget of over Rs 156 billion with an estimated expenditure of Rs 82 billion and revenue collection of Rs 156 billion while a surplus of Rs 73 billion.
The meeting of CDA Board was held under the chairmanship of CDA Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed .
Board Members Shakeel Jazeb (Member Finance), Amir Abbas Khan (Member Administration), Naveed Elahi (Member Planning), Munawar Shah (Member Engineering), Nayyar Ali Dada (Member Architect), Iftikhar Arif, Chaudhry Muhammad Ali, Dr. Muhammad Ali and renowned architect Ali Asghar attended the meeting.
Member Finance Shakeel Jazeb presented the budget for the financial year 2021-22 in which Rs. 40 billion has been allocated for various development projects.
These projects include Rs 2 billion for construction of houses for low income people in Farash Town, Rs 60 million for Rawal Chowk Signal Free Corridor, Rs 10 million for Margalla Avenue while other development projects include IGP Road, PWD Underpass, Seventh Avenue, Tenth Avenue, a new slaughter house and a ladies club.
In addition, Rs 5 billion has been allocated for beautification and renovation projects of the city, including water supply, street lights, sanitation and park projects.
A budget of Rs 50 billion was set during the last financial year, making it the largest budget in the history of the CDA.
CDA has further approved Corona Allowance for next 5 months for Grade 1 to Grade 19 employees and officers.
Other than that, CDA Board also approved the construction of a landfill site in F-16 for the city’s garbage collection.
