DG ISPR says efforts underway to arrest escaped TTP spox Ehsanullah Ehsan

RAWALPINDI – Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Babar Iftikhar said that action had been taken against army officers responsible for escape of TTP former spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan.

The DG ISPR stated this while talking to foreign journalist. He said that the escape the militant was a serious matter, adding that efforts are underway to arrest him again.

He said the Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai was being threatened from fake Twitter account of Ehsan.

The military spokesperson said that militants in Pakistan are getting support from Afghanistan where India is providing weapons, funds and technology to banned outfits.

Responding to question on missing persons, he said that the commission set up on the matter has resolved 4,000 cases of total 6,000. He said that the issue will be resolved soon.

Maj Gen Babar said that security forces had arrested some people allegedly involved in murder of 11 members of Hazara community.

He said that recent attack on women’s vehicle in North Waziristan is reaction of massive operation being carried out by security forces. He stressed that there is no any organized outfit in the country.

The military spokesperson said that Pakistan used its maximum influence on Taliban, adding that now Afghanistan itself is acknowledging Islamabad’s efforts in this regard.
