Pakistan’s First-ever Women Ludo tournament will be held on Jan 30, Saturday at D-17. Prominent social worker and philanthropist Naseem Usmani is organizing the event.
The event is being held with the support of Real Estate & business enterprise J7 Group. “As such this type of event hasn’t taken place in our country and this will be the first-time ever,” Naseem Usmani, senior advisor J7 Group said while talking to media.
He said a total of 40 teams from all over the country would be featuring in the extravaganza. The aim is to give our women some entertainment and take them out of their homes as pandemic has crippled all the outdoor activities, said Usmani.
About COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), he said the event would take place with all the SOPs in place.
“The organizers of the event include Haroon Maqbool, Amber Usmani and Laiba Maqbool,” he said.
Usmani said we also had a fruitful meeting with the Inter Provincial Minister (IPC) Dr Fehmida Mirza and she appreciated the initiative for holding the ludo championship and also showed interest for playing in the event.
“I am very grateful to the minister for valuing our initiative. Cash prizes will be given to the winners while certificates, ribbons and gifts will be awarded to all participants,” he said.
He said after the event, a 4km families marathon will also be organized in order to maintain physical activity during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“All Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be strictly followed in the marathon too as the health of the players was the first and foremost priority,” he said.
