Rebuffing reports that a delegation was sent to Israel during the Nawaz Sharif government, PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Friday said there was neither any visit nor any contact. In series of tweets, Marriyum said Pakistan’s interests, not the political rivals, were being damaged by spreading such baseless information. She was commenting on a tweet posted by the official Twitter account of PTI in which video clip containing an interview of Maulana Ajmal Qadri with a private TV channel had been shared.
Warning the government that it should stop using misinformation as tactics, Marriyum said no one should test their patience being exercised in national interest. ”If we started speaking up then those spreading the lies will not be able to hide their faces,” she remarked. The ‘manufacturers of Indian agent’ had engineered the new allegation, Marriyum said and added that they had sold Kashmir but the accusation was levelled against Nawaz Sharif. It was the reports about the visit by a PTI minister to Israel after which the latest story had been cooked, said the PML-N spokesperson.
Later, a tweet was posted from the Twitter account of PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique as a reply to Marriyum, saying that Qadri had visited Israel on his own and he never represented the PML-N at any national or international forum.
There is no limit to the shamelessness and lies of the PTI government, the tweet read, adding that spreading disinformation won’t enable the PTI their misdeeds and ill-intentions.
