Proving its commitment to eradicate drugs from the homeland, Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan has seized 1296.964 Kg narcotics worth US$ 89.039 million in international market, arrested 16 culprits and impounded 14 vehicles while conducting 21 counter-narcotics strikes throughout the country.
According to an ANF spokesman, the seized drugs comprised of 49.37 kg Hashish, 21.274 kg Heroin, 1165.31 kg Opium, 6.010 kg Methamphetamine (Ice) and 55 kg Morphine.
ANF Balochistan, the staff of Police Station Turbat recovered 20 kg Opium & 6 kg Heroin from a car. In another operation, the staff of Police Station Dalbandin recovered 45 kg Morphine & 5 kg Methamphetamine Ice from 2 Iranian motorcycles parked at Baraji mountainious area Tehsil Dalbandin Distrcit Chagi. In third operation, Police Station Dalbandin recovered 10 kg Morphine from 2 motorcycles which were parked in abandon house situated at General Area of Killi Haji Nazar, Tehsil Dalbandin, District Chagi. In fourth operation, the staff of Police Station Regional Directorate Balochistan recovered 1.060 kg Heroin and arrested Nasrullah Shah r/o Noshki. In fifth operation, the staff of Police Station Regional Directorate Balochistan recovered 925 kg Opium from Killi Nohsar, Tehsil & District Quetta. ANF North, the staff of Police Station Regional Directorate Rawalpindi intercepted a suspected consignment from a private courier & cargo office located at Chaklala Scheme-III, Rawalpindi and recovered 1 kg Heroin. Shipper of the said consignment, namely Muhammad Ali Paracha r/o Rawalpindi was arrested.
ANF KP, on a tip off, Police Station Regional Directorate in collaboration with 104 Wing KR FC (North) recovered 81.250 kg Opium from trunk of a vehicle near Bara Chowk Bara District Khyber.
In a joint Intelligence Based Operation, the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Customs Intelligence foiled a smuggling bid of narcotics in the open sea while smugglers of Pakistan and Iraqi origin were arrested. According to a news release on Friday, the forces seized 6 kgs of white crystal and one and half kg of opium from a boat namely AL SUBHAN. The smugglers, when being approached by the ship for boarding, probably jettisoned a large quantity of narcotics in the sea during dark hours.
The approximated value of the recovered drugs in the international market was Rs. 420 million. The seized drugs and arrested smugglers were handed to Customs authorities for further legal proceedings.
