PAKISTAN on Friday urged the international community to take notice of India’s “state-sponsored terrorism” after a US Foreign Policy magazine published an incriminating report, tracing some of the deadly terrorist attacks in different countries to India. Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, while interacting with newsmen at the weekly briefing, said that Pakistan has been consistently sensitizing the international community regarding India’s involvement in terrorism to destabilize Pakistan and the region.
What the US magazine has said is no secret as India has long been sponsoring acts of terrorism in neighbouring countries but publication of the report by a prestigious global magazine is indicative of the growing realization on the part of the international community about terror tentacles of India and the threat they pose to regional and global peace and security. The article said that it was highly dangerous for peace as India was sponsoring terrorism in neighbouring countries. The US magazine exposed that Indians were involved in terrorism in Afghanistan as well as in Syria and had close ties with Islamic State. It revealed that there were Indian links to 2019 Sri Lanka Easter attacks, attack on a Turkish nightclub on New Year’s Eve 2017 or the 2017 truck attacks in New York City and Stockholm. In fact, this is just tip of the iceberg if one takes into account what is happening to Indian Muslims under fascist regime of Modi, tactics being used to silence Kashmiris who are demanding nothing but their right of self-determination, use of Afghan soil to destabilize Pakistan and blatant interference in the internal affairs of its small neighbours. India’s RAW is massively involved in acts of terrorism in other countries and is also implementing plans to damage purely developmental projects like China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). All this is fully known to world community but, ironically, it is selectively using the issue of terrorism to squeeze some countries and closing its eyes to what some of the powerful countries of the world including India are doing. This is despite the fact that Pakistan shared with the international community incriminating evidence of Indian involvement in acts of terrorism in Pakistan especially stirring of law and order problem in Balochistan and Karachi. It is regrettable that a country that terrorizes its own minorities and sponsors terrorism in other countries is blaming others and also seeks permanent seat at the UN Security Council. However, stray developments like highlighting of the issue by Foreign Policy and reports by Amnesty International and other human rights organizations expose India’s true face.
