Met Office predicts rain spell for metropolis

The Meteorological Department has forecast rain with wind and thundershowers in the provincial metropolis from Saturday (today) to Wednesday. According to the announcement, a series of westerly winds will enter the upper parts of the country Saturday night. The westerly winds will continue to blow over the upper parts of the country until Wednesday (September 30th).
According to details, the Meteorological Department has forecast rains in upper parts of the country including Lahore from Saturday evening. A series of monsoon winds will enter the country on Saturday evening. Strong winds and thunderstorms are also expected in South Punjab during Sunday to Tuesday.
A statement issued by the Meteorological Department said that clouds and sunshine will continue for a while and the minimum temperature in the city is likely to reach 24 and maximum 36. According to the Meteorological Department, the wind will blow at a speed of 2km per hour.
On the other hand, approval was given to construct underground water tanks at 11 places in Lahore, the capital of Punjab, to deal with the rains. Underground water tanks will be built at Tajpura, Sheeranwala Gate, Nasir Bagh, Gaddafi Stadium and other places.
The provincial government has handed over the task of constructing water tanks in Lahore to the Wasa administration. In this regard, the Wasa MD said that underground water tanks will be built before the monsoon 2021. He said that rain water could be stored in underground water tanks.
