Pakistan Agricultural Research Council has okayed a joint venture operational agreement with a commercial business firm Horizon Traders at PARC headquarter.
At the occasion signatories CEO, PATCO Dr. Muhammad Amjad and CEO, M/s Horizon Traders Malik Hassan endorsed the documents in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Azeem Khan, Chairman, PARC along-with other high officials.
While looking at the objectives, Chairman PARC Dr. Azeem informed that our food security goals for sustainable development includes to ensure healthy food by introducing sustainable food production systems and resilient agricultural practices. Remembering this, PARC is also working on organic farming and looking for standardization of commercial brand PARC compost and PARC vermi-compost.
With this agreement PARC will be enable to produce compost of fruit/vegetable mandi waste, livestock farm waste and household waste or any other organic raw material. Transfer of all the technologies to small entrepreneurs and farmers will also be ensured.
The parties are entering with a common goal of promoting agriculture research oriented organic products in the country with specific target of production , marketing and sale of compost / vermi-compost and allied business such as nursery plants growth in compost / vermi-compost pots.
Malik Hassan, CEO, M/s Horizon Traders appreciated PARC efforts in agriculture sector and also thanked Dr. Muhammad Azeem Khan, Chairman PARC who has very kindly consented to get MoU signed between M/s Horizon Traders and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council.
