ICCI urges MCI to implement IHC stay order against hike in property tax

Senior Vice President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) Tahir Abbasi, Ajmal Baloch of All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran and Traders Action Committee Islamabad, Khalid Chaudhry former Senior Vice President ICCI and Mehboob Ahmed Khan current Executive Member ICCI held a meeting with MCI Director Revenue Amir Shehzad and stressed upon him to ensure the implementation of Islamabad High Court stay order against the hike in property tax in Islamabad. Tahir Abbasi said that ICCI had obtained a stay order from the Islamabad High Court against the exorbitant hike in property tax by the MCI. But despite that stay, the Directorate of Revenue has issued property bills with new rates that included the previous outstanding bills with interest.
