Over 200 patients were treated by specialists in free medical camp organized by National Logistics Cell (NLC) at Basic Health Unit Torkham on Sunday, says a press release.
The medical camp is part of NLC efforts to provide quality healthcare facilities to the tribesmen of Khyber Tribal district at their doorstep.
First medical camp was established by NLC in same area in April last. The patients attended by doctors included a large number of women and children.
Services of specialist doctors were hired for the medical checkup of patients suffering from various diseases and who find it difficult to travel all the way to cities and are unable to afford hefty consultancy fees and medicines.
Medicines prescribed by the doctors were provided to the patients free of cost. Medical camps will be a regular feature as NLC plans to hold it at Torkham every month.—INP
