8,263 CCTV cameras to be installed in city

The city police had decided to install More than 8,263 CCTV cameras within the limits of Pakistan Bazaar and other police stations in metropolis to ensure safety of the citizens in the city.

A police official said under the safe city project of district West police, the cameras will be installed at the public places, including petrol pumps, schools, hotels, marriage halls, mobile phone markets, post offices and mosques.

The police official further said the cameras will be installed after meeting and coordinating with stakeholders of the areas to tackle their reservations regarding security in the metropolis.

He further said on the orders of Inspector General of Police Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam a special complaint is also being conducted against drug suppliers across the province.
He said more than 120 drug addicts were sent to jail and rehabilitation centers under the drive.
