7 killed as rain lashes parts of KP

As the continuous rain lashed parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as many as seven children were killed while half a dozen others sustained serious injuries in when a roof of a house collapsed in Bajaur tribal district on Wednesday.
“At least seven children were killed and five other members of the family critically wounded in a deadly incident of roof collapse of a house in Tehsil Mamond in Bajaur district”. Officials said adding the incident took place in Badaan kallay of the Tehsil.
Reports reaching here said the locals rushed to the site and retrieved the victims from the debris on self-help basis and shifted them to the District Headquarters Hospital in Khar the headquarters of Bajaur, where the medics pronounced seven children dead.
The locals and the family members said all the children of the house were present in a single room at the time of the fatal incident. Deceased children were identified as Aisha, Hina, Zaid, Anees, Habib, Ismail and Huzaifa. The intermittent rain, it may be recalled has been hitting the provincial metropolis and other parts of KP since Tuesday evening and rendered losses to may houses especially those in dilapidated condition and situated in Katcha Abaadies besides adding to the cold.
