40 suspects arrested during operation

Rawalpindi Police arrested 40 suspects during operations conducted across the city. Those apprehended were allegedly involved in a variety of offenses, including theft, gambling, kite selling, drug smuggling, and illegal possession of weapons and liquor.

According to police spokesperson, the Race Course Police unit successfully apprehended two individuals, Usman and Nandim, linked to recent motorcycle thefts. Three stolen motorcycles were recovered during their arrest.

Civil Lines Police apprehended six suspects – Zain, Shan, Morad Ali, Khurram, Adnan, and Mujtaba – engaged in illegal card gambling. Police seized gambling materials, including 35,700 rupees in cash, three mobile phones, and card decks.

In compliance with the ban on kite flying, police confiscated a total of 232 kites and strings from various locations across the city. Wasi (70 kites), Afzal (10 kites), Numan (15 kites), Alian (30 kites), Rizwan and Malik Niaz (30 kites), Jannat Gul (20 kites), and Owais and Kafi (75 kites) were all apprehended for possession or sale of kites.

Police launched a targeted effort against drug trafficking, resulting in the seizure of significant quantities of hashish. Murtaza (Rawat – 1.5kg), Waheedullah (Gujar Khan – 1.4kg), Mazhar (Kahota – 1.2kg), Ol Khan (Wah Cantt – 1.28kg), Riaz and Shoaib (Race Course – 530g), Hayat (Airport – 550g), Muqadas (Morgah – 520g), Abbas (Taxila – 525g), and Mujtaba (Sadar Baruni – 540g) were all arrested for possessing hashish.

The crackdown also yielded a significant number of illegal weapons and liquor. City Police recovered pistols from Abdul Rehman and Rizwan, an iron mace from Mubasher, and 5 liters of liquor from Atiq. Similar recoveries were made in Sadiqabad, Sadar Baruni, Westridge, Civil Lines, Taxila, and Gujarkhan, with arrests including Waqas, Asif, Shan, Nimatullah, Qasim Khan, Jannad Gul, and Junaid. Ammunition was also seized during these operations.

This comprehensive police action demonstrates Rawalpindi’s commitment to maintaining public safety and order by cracking down on criminal activities within the city.
