As many as 38 professional beggars were arrested during crackdowns in various areas of the city on Wednesday. The incharges of anti-beggar squads in line with directives of CPO Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari launched crackdowns against beggars at traffic signals, markets, outside business centres and other localities of Rawalpindi.
During separate actions 38 professional beggars were nabbed who were being investigated after registering separate cases against them at concerned police stations.CPO Rawalpindi Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari lauding the performance of anti-beggar squads has said that these professional beggars besides causing disruption in flow of traffic also result in road accidents. He urged the citizens to discourage the professional beggars to improve flow of traffic and bring betterment in the society.—INP
