329 illegally activated SIMs of Jazz, Ufone, Zong and Telenor as NCCIA arrest female suspect
ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Zonal Office Lahore, in coordination with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), has taken action against the illegal trade of activated SIMs.
Acting on PTA’s complaint, NCCIA apprehended a female suspect in Sahiwal allegedly involved in the bulk sale of illegally activated SIMs.
A total of 329 illegally activated SIMs were recovered, including 176 Jazz, 83 Ufone, 66 Zong, and 4 Telenor SIMs.
Initial investigation revealed evidence of bulk SIM trading and their distribution to different cities. An FIR has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
PTA remains committed to eliminating the illegal issuance of SIMs and preventing misuse of the Multi-Finger Biometric Verification System (MBVS).
