Police in Sindh capital made progress in horrific case of three-year-old Kulsoom, who was abducted from outside her home in Qaidabad, raped, and brutally murdered in Karachi. According to police sources, the young girl went missing from in front of her house in the Qaidabad area on Tuesday evening.
Her tortured body, wrapped in a sack, was recovered the same night from the vicinity of her residence.
The post-mortem examination has confirmed that the minor was subjected to sexual assault before being killed. Forensic teams recovered multiple pieces of crucial evidence during the autopsy, including various human hairs and several DNA samples from the victim’s clothes.
These samples have been properly preserved and sent for detailed forensic and chemical analysis. Investigators found clear marks of resistance on different parts of the child’s body, strengthening the suspicion that more than one individual may have been involved in the heinous crime.Police have taken several suspects into custody for interrogation.
Blood samples and other biological specimens are being collected from the detained individuals to match them with the evidence recovered from the crime scene and the victim’s body. Investigators have not ruled out the possibility of involvement by someone close to the family.
A senior police officer stated that investigations are proceeding from multiple angles, and concrete results are expected once the forensic and DNA reports are received.
