Zubair’s enlightened thoughts

SINDH Governor Muhammad Zubair, who established his credentials as a moderate politician and an economic expert, is now making a positive contribution not only to highlight the cause of business capital of the country but also the lofty ideal of projecting Pakistan’s soft image in comity of nations. Thoughts he shared with foreign delegates participating in the 25th Advanced Diplomatic Course, on Wednesday, is a testimony to this fact.
The Governor, who has rich and varied background of Pakistan’s economy, apprised the participants about importance of Karachi as business hub of the country, its potential for attracting investment and the benefits that would accrue to entrepreneurs. He spoke with logic and authority on the subject and informed them that Sindh was endowed with massive natural resources while availability of qualified and experienced manpower at comparatively low remuneration can be extremely attractive for investors from across the world. He wisely related this to the on-going monumental project of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor that would lead to socio-economic revolution in the country. This is not the only example of positive attitude and approach of Mr Zubair as, ever since assumption of his new office, he has been aggressively engaged in promoting harmonious relationship between the federation and province besides using his good offices to promote the cause of economic development of Sindh. He doesn’t believe in politics of friction and confrontation and instead believes in national unity, harmony and solidarity. Fortunately, Sindh also has a young and energetic Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who has initiated several policies and programmes aimed at welfare of the people. We hope that provincial government would make serious efforts to benefit from the acumen and expertise of Mr Zubair and come out with more people-oriented programmes and policies.
