Dubai—Former President and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that he would be returning to Pakistan in a couple of weeks.
He told a private TV channel in Dubai that he was not in exile, adding “I will return to Pakistan in a couple of weeks.” The interview is scheduled for telecast today.
On Karachi’s garbage issue, Zardari said that Karachiites would soon hear good news about the issue. He stated that a contract had been finalised with a Chinese company and disposal of garbage would soon begin.
When asked to comment on why PTI chairman Imran Khan frequently praises PPP leader Aitzaz Ahsan but subjects Zardari to criticism, the former president said that Mr. Khan wanted to become Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Zardari had left Pakistan for Dubai last year, soon after he had made a hard-hitting speech that seemed to many, against the military leadership.
