Youth urged to register, cast vote to strengthen democracy

Naushahro Feroze—The election commission officials urged the youth to get themselves registered as voter and exercise their right to franchise to achieve the objectives of democracy by electing real representatives of people.
The District Election Commissioner (DEC) Naushahro Feroze, Ali Akhtar Khan and Election Officer Naeem ur Rehman Jalbani visited Government boys and Girls higher secondary schools and basic health unit in Bhiria Road town of the district to impart voters education the students and general public.
According to a hand out issued by the district information office on Monday, addressing the students the (DEC) Ali Akhtar Khan said it was firm commitment of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to raise public awareness about election process and encourage the masses for becoming a part of election process by exercising their rights of vote.
Every citizens of Pakistan above 18 years was entitled with right to franchise so youth must register their vote, he said adding that youth are future of the Pakistan and they should come forward not only for exercising their right as a national obligation but they should also persuade their family members to do so.
Election Officer Naeem ur Rehman Jalbani said that all men, women, youth, disabled persons, Eunuchs as well as people belonging to minority communities has an equal right of franchise.—APP
