World space week celebrations continue

The World Space Week 2017 celebrations are continuing in full swing as the 3rd inter-school ‘Quran-Qiraat Competition’ was organized by Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) at its headquarters here on Thursday.
An official of SUPARCO said that in the competition, students from different private and government schools recited Quranic verses related to space science.
More than 35 students participated in the competition, including children with special need.
Guest speaker also explained the Quranic revelations about space.
Fariha Jamil from Dawood Public School won the competition. Yousha Saeed from Al-Badar School remained runners-up.
Moreover, a special consolation prize was given to Himra Ali from Special Children School, Karsaz.
On October 6, quiz competition will be held among students of different public and private schools of Karachi at SUPARCO Headquarters here.
Two-day Space Fair & Exhibition is planned to be held at PAF Museum on October 7 and 8 and a large number of students, teachers and general public are expected to attend it. On October 9 and 10, Declamation and space vocabulary contest will be held at SUPARCO HQs.
Furthermore, SUPARCO, in collaboration with PIA Planetarium, Karachi is organizing Sky Simulation shows and lectures for school students from 4 to 10 October.—APP
