Work order issued for international standard zoo

Multan—The Punjab government has issued work order for construction of a Zoo matching to international standards in Multan.
This was disclosed by Assistant Director Wildlife Multan Mian Ghulam Abbas while talking to APP here on Wednesday. He said that a team of engineers, surveyors, climate officers, wildlife experts and other technical officials would visit Village Balail on Monday (March 01), some 8 Kilometer from Multan city wherein Zoo would be established. He said, it was outstanding demand of the local people and hoped that the Zoo would match international standard to offer recreation to inhabitants of South Punjab.
Giving details of the recreational project, the Assistant Director stated that a 40-acre piece of land had been transferred to wildlife department at Mouza Balail on Shujabad road.
He said, the provincial government had allocated Rs 7.7 million in the current budget 2015-16 and same amount was transferred to the wildlife department for a consultant firm.—APP
