Islamabad—Minister of State Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary Wednesday said that women education is imperative for the national progress and development in the world.
Addressing a seminar regarding Women Day held here at Islamabad Model College for Girls G-6/1, he said that Islam has given immensive rights to the women and they have been playing pivotal role for bringing change in the society right from the begining of the Islam.
Referring the role of women in the Pakistan movement 1947, he said “ our nation can compete the world by making these women an example.
Tariq Fazal further said the women role in the society was very important as they were more than 50% of the population. It was not wise to leave half the population un-utilized in national develpment pursuits, he added.
The federal government was making all out efforts for the women empowerment and education, he said and added, the women protection bill passed by the Punjab Assembly was an example in this regard. The minister of state hoped that other provinces would also take necessary step for the women rights. This bill, he said would provide safety to the women in the society and those working in the different institutions.
He said the journey of progress would be continued through Prime Minster’s Education Reforms Program. Tariq said the government has transferred five special education institutions of the capital under the ministry of CADD through capital education reforms program, adding that five new buses has also been granted to these institutions for students with disabilities.
“We are inducting more teachers according to the need of the institutions and their training was also underway so that they can enable their students to face the challenges and cope with the changes in the world”. The minister of state said the standard of education in public schools would be improved to reduce the gap between public and private educational institutions. He said a building has been allocated to the curriculum wing aiming at to modernize the curriculum of the educational institutions according to the need of the hour. Tariq Fazal said “ he is special thankful to the Prime Minister and Maryam Nawaz for paying special attention to the schools of the capital. Later he also presented shields to the distinguished students.
