A woman allegedly poisoned her husband to death on Sunday in Chahni Gondal village of Airport Police Station precincts. According to police, Shaukat Ali lodged a report with the police station that he, along with his brother Ghulam Sarwar, had gone to house of his brother’s in-laws to bring his wife Tehmina back. She was living with her parents after developing differences with her husband.
During talks, Tehmina presented poison-mixed drink to Sarwar. After taking it, Sarwar started feeling unwell and died on the way to a hospital.
It is reported from Battagram that selfie craze on Sunday took another life of a teenage boy at Battagram while making a selfie near River Indus. According to police, 14 years old Kashif son of Shah Nazar native of Battgram and settled in Karachi came to their inborn village Phagora to celebrate Eid ul Fitr was making a selfie near River Indus when suddenly he slipped and fell into the river and lost his life.
Local swimmers have recovered the body of the ill-fated Kashif and handed over to the family. During the last couple of years, several people died while making selfies at dangerous places in northern areas of Pakistan. In 2017 more than 10 tourists lost their lives only in Naran and Balakot while trying to take selfies.
Meanwhile, it is reported from Faisalabad that at least eight persons killed around in different incidents during the past 12 hours. Police spokesman said here Sunday that 55-year-old Balqees Bibi, a resident of Chak No 66-JB Dhandra, was killed when a speeding trailer collided with a bus at Gojra Road near Chak No 275-JB. Also, 7-year-old Umm-e-Zahra, daughter of Sajid of Chak No 199-RB was killed when a trailer hit a motorcycle at Sheikhupura Road. In another incident, Muhammad Ali of Chak No 410-GB was killed during a clash between two rival groups over a marriage dispute, while unidentified assailants shot dead Ghulam Ali of Sultani Chowk, Ghulam Muhammad Abad when he was going to his Dera in Chak No 100-JB. In yet another incident, 3-year-old Noor Fatima, daughter of Wajid, drowned in canal water near Chak No 94-RB, whereas an accused Abu Bakar shot dead the brother of his grilfriend, Ayub, in Chak No 58-GB when the latter reprimanded the former. In other accidents, a motorcyclist Barkat Ali (40), son of Abdul Kareem of Bakkar Mandi Road, and Tariq of Mohallah Rasool Nagar were killed.—APP
