The Abbottabad police has posted its first woman muharrar at City Police Station recently after calling her to compete interview and test to qualify, however, she qualified the test, later recruited for the performance of her post. In addition, she would be the first woman Muharrar recruited at divisional headquarters, at city police station, Abbottabad while dozens of women folk were expected to be benefited because of a female posting in such police station.
Moreover the Lady Head Constable Gulnaz had joined the police force in 2008 as a constable. She topped her batch in the basic training course at the Police Training College in Hangu in the year 2012. The officials confirmed that in the month of April 2014 she was employed as a head constable at women police station at Abbottabad.
The District Police Officer (DPO) Abbas Majeed Marwat told media men that such Head Constable Gulnaz had been posted to the City Police Station after she cleared an interview conducted by Superintendent Police Sonia Shamroze Khan in which she was reported to have performed satisfactorily and cleared for posting in a regular police station.
“The instant posting would solve many problems faced by women in the civil society since such officers have easier access women,” said District Police Officer, Marwat. This was not the first experience for SSP Marwat, though. In May, when Marwat was the DPO at Kohat district, he appointed the first-ever female muharrar of the province at a police station in Kohat also. After that many female muharrars have been posted across the province (Concluded).
