Wide lanes to be constructed in North Karachi: Administrator

Karachi—Administrator Karachi Roshan Ali Sheikh on Wednesday said that tenders are being invited for construction of wide lanes in North Karachi Industrial Area while PC-I for construction of 7000 streets will be sent to the government soon.
He was talking to a delegation of North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry at his office, said a statement. He said that the KMC and DMC Central will jointly launch a special cleaning campaign in North Karachi Industrial Area on March 31.
Roshan Sheikh advised that North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry should chalk out a plan to develop North Karachi Industrial Area as model industrial area and every possible cooperation will be extended in this regard.
President of the Association, Iqtidar Ali briefed the Administrator Karachi regarding problems of the Industrial zone. Administrator DMC Central, Ms. Ayesha Abro, Director Municipal Services, Masood Alam, Senior Director Encroachments, Bilal Manzar and other officials concerned were also present.
He advised the Association to prepare a plan for disposal of Solid Waste and informed that the industrial waste of F.B.Area and North Karachi Industrial zones will be allocated landfill site at Jam Chakro so as to dispose off the industrial waste through scientific means.—APP
