Wet spell throughout next week in upcountry

Islamabad—Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast wet spell during next week in upper region of the country keeping the mercury 3-4 degrees below the current level.
An official of Met office told APP that rainfall is expected on Monday morning, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday while chances of rain is less on Tuesday.
Rain thunderstorm with dust-storm/strong gusty winds expected at isolated places of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur, Hazara, Malakand, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu divisions, FATA, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Whereas mainly hot and dry weather is expected in other parts of the country.
He informed that the current heat wave would partially subside during the next week but moderate intensity heat conditions would prevail especially in Balochistan, Sibbi, Jacoabad, Sukkur and other areas but temperature would remain 2-3 degree less than current level.
Seasonal low lies over central Balochistan and its adjoining areas. Moderate moist currents from Arabian sea are penetrating in upper/eastern parts of the country and likely to continue during next 4 to 5 days. A shallow westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 hours.
In last 24 hours weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However, dust-thunderstorm/rain occurred at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Bahawalpur divisions, upper FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall recorded during this time span remained Bahawalpur City=29mm, Bahawalpur A/P=08mm, Parachinar=08mm, Balakot,Kalam=01mm, Gilgit-Baltistan: Gupis=03, Bunji=02, Gilgit=01,Muzaff arabad=02mm. Maximum temperatures recorded on Sunday were Rohri 49øC, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad 48øC, Moenjodaro, Padidan 47øC, Sibbi, Jacobabad 46øC. —APP
