Week-long celebrations to mark 141st birth anniversary of founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah formally began on Monday. Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Advisor to Prime Minister Ifran Siddiqui, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, Minister of State for Interior and Education Engineer Balighur Rehman and Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary launched the celebrations at a function in Islamabad on Monday.
In his remarks, the Minister for Planning called for a firm commitment to democratic governance, rule of law and equality of citizens to take Pakistan to the heights of progress and prosperity.
He said Quaid’s birth anniversary is also an occasion to commit ourselves to hard work, better work and quality work as per spirit of Quaid’s teachings. Ahsan Iqbal said week long celebrations are part of the campaign to acquaint our younger generation of life and achievements of the Quaid.
Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb said all departments of the ministry are closely cooperating to highlight Quaid’s vision in the society.
