Water recedes in low-lying areas

Rawalpindi—After consecutive heavy rain during the last three days water in low lying areas has receded but all operational wings of the local administration are on high alert as the Met Office has forecast more rains during the next 48 hours.
The district government had declared emergency and all departments are ready to meet with any situation following Monday evening rain.
Talking to APP, Managing Director Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Raja Shaukat Mehnood said rain water submerged in low-lying areas near Katarian, Javed Colony, Arya Mohallah, Gawalmandi, Millat Colony, Workshpee mohallah, Gawala road, Ratta Amral, Dhoke Ratta, Phagwari and Nayya Mohllah.
He said the water entered in some houses in low-lying areas where the district administration carried out dewatering.—APP
