Water Board taking steps to restore sewerage system in Saudabad

Karachi—The Water Board is undertaking steps on priority basis to restore the sewerage system in Karachi’s Malir, Saudabad and adjoining areas.
This was stated by the spokesman of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) on Sunday.
He said that the faulty and damaged sewerage lines in the area are being replaced.
The Managing Director of KWSB, Misbahuddin Farid, alongwith senior officials undertook a detailed visit of the area, the spokesman added.
He reviewed the ‘over-flow’ at the Main Malir Halt where he was informed that as the DMC Malir’s ‘Nallah’ is closed for quite sometime resulting in clogging of 18 and 24 inch dia lines this the sewerage system is blocked.
It was pointed out that cleansing of this ‘Nallah’ is required to improve the situation.
Farid called for the required steps in order to help resolve the problem and besides mapping, the estimates be forwarded for the replacement of the faulty sewerage lines.—APP
