Wapda players shine in 5th Asian Beach Games

Islamabad—The Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) players, who represented their country, showed brilliant performance yet in another international event that is the 5th Asian Beach Games held at Danag, Vietnam from September 23 to October 3, 2016, brining laurels to Pakistan.
According to a press release, in all, Pakistan secured two gold, three silver and six bronze medals in these games.
Out of them, one gold, one silver and four bronze medals were contributed by WAPDA players, honoured to represent Pakistan.
Detail of the medals won by Wapda players is as under: Muhammad Inam Gold Medal in Wrestling (Men’s under 90 kg); Ahmad Butt Silver Medal in Ju-Jitsu (Men’s +94 kg); Humaira Ashiq and Maryam Bronze Medal in Ju-Jitsu (Show System Women (Duo); Beenish Khan Bronze Medal in Ju-Jitsu (Newaza Women’s -70kg); Maryam Bronze Medal in Ju-Jitsu (Show System Mixed) and Men’s Bronze Medal in Beach Handball (Men’s Team).
Congratulating the Wapda players on their brilliant performance in the 5th Asian Beach Games, Wapda Sports Board has expressed the hope that WAPDA players would continue to bring laurels to Pakistan in the international events.—APP
