Voters cast votes in tight security

The local administration had tightened security arrangements in the metropolis, specially around its 4888 designated polling stations, including 2247 declared as highly sensitive here Wednesday.
The voting process that began at around 8:15 to 8:30 hours at most of the polling stations in the port city registered a gradual momentum among the voters with pace getting better after 12 noon.
Presence of police and Pak Army personnel could be witnessed to had significantly raised public confidence with significant number of women coming out, individually as well as in groups to cast their votes.
Karachiites interviewed by APP were also highly appreciative of the arrangements made to facilitate the senior citizens, people with disabilities, pregnant women and also the transgenders.
“This is for the first time that I found that none of my community member was discriminated or harassed in any manner at any of the polling stations in the metropolis,” said Bindya Rana.
A senior official of Election Commission of Pakistan appreciated that Sindh has emerged to be the only province that has ensured ramp facility at all the designated stations for people with restricted mobility.—APP
