Vehari MC sets up career counselling centre


The Municipal Committee (MC) in collaboration with Inter University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS) and Vehari Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) established Career Counselling Centre in the city with an objective to impart guidance to local students in building outstanding future. Pakistan Muslim League-N MNA Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry inaugurated the Career Counselling Centre at Municipal Committee on Monday evening.
National Coordinator for IUCPSS, Muhammad Murtaza Noor while talking to APP informed that the idea of establishing Career Counselling Centre in Vehari was given by sons of Vehari’s, who were working on different important positions in different parts of the country. Murtaza maintained the Career Counselling Centre would offer guidance to local students in getting admissions in best universities of the world. It would inform students about scholarships, being offered by reputed foreign universities. The Centre would also manage internships for the students.
A CSS corner would also be introduced in the Centre to enable local students to take part in Competitive exams with full preparation. Noted successful personalities of the country would visit centre regularly, to share their experiences for achieving success. Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Dr Nizamuddin also promised to extend complete cooperation toward the Career Counselling Centre, said Noor, adding that indigenous resources would also be utilized for best utility of the centre.
About staff in the centre, National Coordinator on Inter University Consortium for Promotion of Social Science Murtaza Noor stated that three highly educated staffers would be deputed at the centre.—APP
