President Peshawar University Teacher Association (PUTA) Jamil Chitrali Tuesday accused that some former officers of the UoP in collusion with university staff removed record from the files of the University employees housing scheme.
Talking to media here at PUTA Hall along with his other cabinet members Jamil Chitral said that some cases were on under trial in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Peshawar High Court to this effect.
“We have all evidences and CCTV footage record that retired officials of university visited university administration block at late night and stole confidential record from university files,” the president claimed.
The PUTA Chief said that 10 universities in the province were running without permanent VCs and urged the government to appoint the VCs in the universities against the vacant post. He said that the autonomy of varsities is necessary to promote quality education. He said that they were not satisfied from the University Act adding that every varsity should have separate Act.—APP
