Uninterrupted gas supply to consumers, which started in February 2016 after the import of RLNG, would continue this year, said General Manager Distribution Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Hanif Ramey Saturday. He was addressing a meeting here at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), which was attended by a large number of industrialists.
He said that there was extreme shortage of gas before 2016. However, since February 2016, it load-shedding had been brought to an end, which would continue for many years. He said the second terminal for import of regasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) was expected to be completed till November 29.” Its capacity will be 600 million cubic feet per day which will be quite sufficient to meet our domestic needs,” he added.
He said that as directed by the SNGPL, all pending applications of industrial and commercial connections were being processed on fast-track basis. He said after providing RLNG to power houses, there would be surplus gas with the SNGPL to cater to the needs of other consumers.—APP
