Islamabad—Minister of State for National Health Services, Saira Afzal Tarar has urged uniform admission policy in both private and public-sector medical & dental colleges. She said this on Tuesday while chairing a meeting on Uniform admission policy for both public and private sector medical and dental colleges at Federal level.
The minister said that Ministry and PMDC would advertise as soon as possible central admission test and all stake holders i.e. Universities and medical colleges would upload it on their websites. Only those students who take the test will be considered eligible for admission in those located in ICT, she said.
Secretary, M/o NHSRC, DG M/o NHSRC, VICE Chancellors of Federal chartered universities and principals of public, private sector medical and dental colleges and Ministry officials attended the meeting.
Director General Health briefed the key areas and mentioned the steps need to be taken for implementation of central test. He also mentioned the rules and regulations under which Federal Government is bound to take steps for central exam into federal territory.
He emphasized that there was a need for system coordination that may be done by the consensus of the stake holders. This is the obligation of Federal Government to conduct central test in order to avoid the multiple tests and to ensure transparency in admission. After getting the views of the house, it was proposed by the house that eligibility criteria for admission should be 70% instead of 60% in F.SC exam.
