Unhygienic conditions at food outlets

Islamabad—The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has expedited its on-going campaign against adulterated food items and submitted challans in the court against 25 food outlets for not maintaining hygienic conditions.
According to an ICT administration spokesman, its teams conducted inspection of some 239 food outlets during last week and issued notices to 36 of them for not complying with the food and hygiene laws. As many as 35 broken and unhygienic utensils were also confiscated while stocks of 30 non-branded juice and three dozen non-branded snacks were also seized.
The teams, he said took 13 samples of food items and sent them to laboratory for analysis.—APP
