UNHRC’s mission has fizzeled out: Gilani

Arwani, Ihk

In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that the UN Human Rights Council was established to safeguard the individual and collective human rights throughout the world and to ensure global peace and tranquility but unfortunately it has failed to uphold its own slogan.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in connection with the World Human Rights Day, today, said, “Humans have inherent rights of dignity and worth which existed even before the laws. Humans should not be taken as the property and commodity of the State and denying people’s rights amounts to the denial of its existence.”
He said that place, where the people are being oppressed and subjugated in the name of colour, creed, cast and religion, should be the centre of focus and attention as injustice to a single human is a threat to the whole humanity.
“Like every year, Human Rights Day is being observed and this year as well seminars and programs will be held across the globe, where thundering speeches, colourful cultural activities and food will be served on large scale harassing weaker sections of subjugated people.”
He said that in India too, hundreds of seminars and symposiums would be held throughout the country where the worst enemies of humanity would be praised in such events.
He said that India was not respecting and honouring the promises made by its political godfathers and was forcing the whole population of occupied Kashmir to humiliating subjugation.
He said that any voice against this brutal rule was crushed with heavy military might to create a graveyard-like silence in the occupied territory.
The APHC Chairman in another statement paid glowing tributes to the four youth who were martyred by Indian troops in Arwani area of Islamabad district.—KMS
