UN urged to pay more attention on plight of women & children

Karachi—The All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA has urged the United Nations to pay more attention towards the plight of women and children who were victims of conflicts and disaster. This was stated by the Acting President of APWA,Ms. Yasmin Dastur, here on Monday on the occasion of the United Nations’ Day. The All Pakistan Women’s Association has Consultant’s Status with the UN Category II.
In a message on this day, the APWA ‘stressed the need of the UN to emphasize more visibly, the plight of people specially women and children, who are victims in conflicts and disasters, causing untold suffering to all’. Ms. Yasmin in the message further stated that ‘We salute UN missions and peace force and its honorable members that continue to help all over the world in every troubled area’.—APP
