UK MP apprised of Kashmir diaspora’s concern

London—A delegation met British Member of Parliament Fiona Mactaggart and apprised her about the latest situation in occupied Kashmir. The delegation comprised former AJK Minister Mahmood Riaz, Chief Patron Kashmir Concern UK Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl, JKLF representative Mushtaq Malik, Councillor Ishrat Shah and Councillor Haqeeq Dar.
The delegation also handed over the joint declaration approved by a representative gathering of Kashmiri and Pakistani representatives of the diaspora living in UK.
It was conveyed that the diaspora is awaiting a response from the MP’s government on the crisis in occupied Kashmir where eight million people are in a state of siege apart from 86 deaths and injuries to over 8000 people by bullets and pellet guns.
The member of parliament shared the concern of the delegation and responded with an immediate communication to Shadow foreign secretary of the Labour Party Emily Thornberry MP and David Nuttal, Chairman All parties parliamentary Group on Kashmir. She expressed her deep concern about the state of siege in Indian occupied Kashmir. She has pointed out the serious abuse of human rights is being carried out.—KMS
