Two gangs of street criminals busted

R.A. Bazar police have busted two gangs of street criminals and nabbed eight members involved in various crimes. Addressing a press conference here Friday, Superintendent Police (SP) Potohar Division Syed Ali said, a police team under the supervision of DSP Cantt Circle, Raja Tafoor Ahmed and SHO R.A.Bazar Police Station, Tariq Masood was constituted to ensure arrest of street criminals involved in various crimes including motorcycle lifting, cash and mobile-snatching at gun point in Cantt and city areas.
Five members of Sunny gang namely Muhammad Saqlain alias Sunny son of Muhammad Aftab resident of Scheme-III Chaklala, Malik Mubeen Bahadar s/o Ali Kamran r/o Scheme-III, Muhammad Harira s/o Muhammad Naeem, r/o Adiala Road, Park Lane, Muhammad Waqas s/o Muhammad Nisar r/o Tahli Muri and Muhammad Aqib s/o Abdul Khaliq r/o Hasababad were arrested, he said adding, two members of Baidar gang namely Abu Bakar s/o Larozam Khan r/o Dheri Hasanabad and Muhammad Faisal s/o Muhammad Arif r/o GTS Chowk, Gujrat were rounded up. Raids are being conducted to net three other members of Baidar gang, he said.
The SP informed, seven cases have been registered against the criminals of Sunny gang in RA Bazar police station while three cases have also been registered against the members of Baidar gang.
The police team after hectic efforts succeeded in arresting the criminals.
He informed, police also recovered cash Rs 147,000 looted amount, five pistols, two revolvers with 26 rounds, four motorcycles and seven mobile phones from their possession.
During preliminary investigation, they confessed various crimes committed in different areas of the city including Sadiqabad, Civil Lines, New Town, RA Bazar and other areas, the SP said. Some of the arrested criminals have already remained jailbirds and also snatched cash from people, he said adding, police have registered cases against them while further investigations are underway.
