Truck production rises to 1,662 units

Islamabad—Trucks’ production in the country rose by 60 per cent to 1662 units in first quarter of the fiscal year 2016-17 as against the production of 1039 units a year ago.
On monthly basis the trucks production fell by 21.65 per cent to 474 units in September, 2016 from 605 units in August 2016 while on yearly basis the trucks production increased by 33 per cent per cent as the production during September 2015 was recorded at 356 units. According to latest figures released by Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA), production of Hino trucks in the country also increased by 62.74 per cent to 830 units in July- September 2016-17 as against the production of 510 units in same period of last year. Similarly Nissan also raised the production of its trucks to 216 units in the period under review as compared to the production of 168 units in first three months of preceding fiscal year, showing an increase of 28.57 per cent.—APP
