India using killings, rape as weapon of war
In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism killed two Kashmiri youth and injured three civilians in Uri area of Baramulla district, today.
The two youth were killed and three civilians including a woman, Sakeena, were injured during a cordon and search operation in Kalghi area of the district. An Indian army official claimed that during a clash in the same area, an Indian soldier, Hawaldar Chandra Bhan was injured. The operation was going on till last reports came in.
In another incident, three personnel of Indian Central Reserve Police Force including an officer were injured in a grenade attack on a CRPF vehicle in Sopore.
Indian army and police launched a joint cordon-and-search-operation in Awantipora area of Pulwama district.
The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference Syed Ali Gilani in his message read out to the participants of a rally outside the United Nations building in New York said that Indian occupational forces were using custodial killings, enforced disappearances and rape as a weapon of war in occupied Kashmir. The Chairman of Jammu of Kashmir Liberation Front, Mohammad Yasin Malik in his message said that people of Kashmir without the discrimination of age and gender were locked up in jails and police stations by the so-called democratic India.
The rally was taken out by hundreds of Kashmiri Americans during the speech of the Indian delegate at the UN General Assembly.
The participants raised slogans and carried placards seeking the UN intervention for settlement of the Kashmir dispute. Among others the rally was addressed by Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary and Ishtiyaq Hameed.
Meanwhile, transporters and traders will observe complete shutdown in occupied Kashmir, tomorrow, against the summoning of Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation President, Muhammad Yasin Khan, by India’s National Investigation Agency to New Delhi for questioning. Call for the strike has been given by the representatives of various trade and transporters’ bodies.
The joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has supported the call, saying that the NIA was being used to harass the people of Kashmir.—KMS
