Tributes paid to journalist Altaf Hasan Qureshi

Veteran journalist Altaf Hasan Qureshi was paid rich tributes on the occasion of launching of his book titled “Mulakatain Kia Kia!” held here on Monday at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU).
The speakers on the occasion praised high his journalistic contribution in the form of the book that is based on a collection of interviews of prominent personalities like Shah Faisal, Maulana Abul A’la Maududi Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Sheikh Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Justice A R Cornelius, Maulana Zafar Ahmad Ansari, Suleman Demirel of Turkey, which are worth reading.
Vice Chancellor, AIOU Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddidqi who presided over the function said the University will continue to project historical personalities and their work for the guidance and aspirations of the new generation. The University will be developed as a Center of literary and social activities, he added.
The function was the part of ‘Book and author’ series being arranged by the University on a regular basis.
The speakers included famous anchorperson Sohail Warrich and renowned literary figures Ejaz Shafi Gilani, Khurshid Alam, Jabbar Mirza and famous columnist Amar Masood.
They highlighted various dimensions of his journalistic contribution that he achieved by conducting interviews with the leading personalities. They also spoke about his qualities of head and heart and said he served the national cause through his writing in an exceptional way.
They added, Mr Qureshi has done a great job by gathering his notes and interviews that he did for Urdu Digest during the first three decades after the birth of Pakistan.
