Traffic wardens get training from Turkish experts

Turkish police trainers imparted new techniques to wardens to handle traffic on busy roads of the city.
As many as 34 traffic wardens took part in the training.
Turkish SP Muslim Apadeen said on the occasion that 13 lectures had been delivered to traffic wardens at IG Chowk, Medical Chowk, Afshan Chowk and other roads. Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) registered 441 cases against motorists for violating various traffic rules during a week.
According to PHP sources, a team of the PHP impounded two motorcycles for using fake registration number plates.
The team arrested 27 culprits for using prohibited gas cylinders and selling petrol without licences. Meanwhile, a Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) team held a meeting with officials of the Directorate of Monitoring at Arfa Karim Tower here Thursday to discuss mutual cooperation.
It was decided in meeting that for an effective monitoring, information should be shared at firsthand. Heinous crimes information should be passed on to the PHP post as well as the PHP Control Room, so that incidents handling could be monitored effectively.
Participants in the meeting devised a new strategy that cameras on 3G and 4G networks should be installed on patrolling vehicles, which will record crime scenes, movement of vehicles, corruption and behaviour of police officials with commuters.
In the same way, positions of all vehicles may be checked through internet from any office.
It was also decided that during snap checking, internet facility would be provided to the PHP vehicles for online data checking of stolen vehicles, proclaimed offenders and court absconders.
DSP Operations Zulfiqar Ali, DSP C&V Rao Kamran Akhtar, Deputy Director Shahzada Khurram, Assistant Director Malik Zaman, PRO Muhammad Qazzafi and In-Charge Control Room Abdul Munaf participated in the meeting.
