Traders cooperation sought in removing encroachments

Rawalpindi—Encroachments are main hurdle in smooth flow of traffic on city roads which should be removed by the departments concerned at all costs to ensure better traffic flow on the roads. Acting Chief Traffic Officer (ACTO) Rawalpindi Yousaf Ali Shahid said this while talking to a group of traders led by President, Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran Shahid Ghafoor Paracha which met him at his office here on Friday. Deputy Superintendent Police, Traffic Headquarters, Tamoor Khan, DSP City, Faisal Saleem and other traffic officers were present on the occasion.
The CTO urged the traders to come forward and play a role to remove encroachments from city roads as without removal of encroachments, increasing traffic problems cannot be controlled and other traffic related issues cannot be addressed properly. He said that all-out efforts were being made to remove encroachments so that citizens particularly motorists could be facilitated on the roads.
Special arrangements have also been made to control the traffic jam problems in the city. Wrong parking of vehicles on the city roads is strictly being checked and negligence on part of traffic police officials would not be tolerated, he added.—APP
