In view of ever rising price of electricity impeding the growth rate in the country as well as rendering the cost of production uncompetitive, the trade and industry has appreciated the regulatory authority OGRA for a cut in K ELETRIC tariffs. President FPCCI, Zubair Tufail Welcomed Decision of Nepra For K-Elecric Tariff Cut by Rs:3.50 Per Unit.
This decision was long awaited in view of falling Crude Oil/Gas Prices in the World. Citizens and industries of Karachi were paying exhorbitant electric bills to “K-Electric” for the last few years and due to high tariff, exporters were unable to compete in the international market. Decision of NEPRA in light of efficiency gains and lower oil prices which are to be transferred to the consumers.
Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif always desired lower tariff of electiricity for all consumers in Pakistan. WAPDA is supplying electricity to the consumers even at lower tariff than K-Electric. FPCCI fully support the Prime Minister’s vision for supply of electricity at affordable price through out Pakistan. Lower prices of electricity will enable the exporters to meet the competition in the world market and increase their exports, it will also help other consumers in the country.
